With a national reputation for the development of community-based testimonial media, RWHP trainings prepare groups to either independently produce or collaboratively develop such educational tools as fotonovelas, testimonial video and print materials. Trainings are implemented in 2 to 5 day intensive seminars and are held at organizational offices.
El Paso - HIV Prevention
Partnering with Farmworker Justice, we offered a training to focus on the intricacies of novela development which would integrate the concepts of “Theory of Change” within stories addressing the risk HIV infection for married women in HIV infection. This project includes the insight of educators from the El Paso, Texas area.
Brownsville FJ - HIV Prevention
Youth peer educators have unique needs for their HIV prevention work in bars, clubs and schools. In collaboration with Farmworker Justice, this one week training had two goals: train the youth in novela development for their future work and to produce three bi-lingual youth novelas for immediate outreach.
