RWHP receives 2011 Steve Shore Community Catalyst Award

The Rural Women's Health Project is the 2011 recipient of the Steve Shore Community Catalyst Award for Excellence in Service to Farmworker Communities. The award was presented at the 24th Annual East Coast Migrant Stream Forum. This is the eighth year that the North Carolina Community Health Care Center Association has bestowed this honor on a deserving organization.
The Steve Shore Community Catalyst Award believes in several important facets for organizations deserving of the award. The Rural Women's Health Project was recognized as an organization which:
- Promotes and advocates for policy and practices that improve the health and access to health care for farmworkers and their families
- Leads and influences issues affecting the health of farm workers and their families and inspiresexcellence in others
- Partners with other advocates and agencies in the community on initiatives that aim to enhance the health and lives of farmworkers and their families.
- Raises awareness in the broader community about the health and lives of farmworkers .
